Brooke's first trip to the Beach

Brooke had a lot of firsts yesterday. We spent Memorial day with Rick, Janae and Wyatt. J.T. and Rick spent a few hours on the beach with the Kite while Janae and I watched. It was Brookes First time to the Beach so I wanted it to be well documented.

I tried to keep Brooke in her stroller while we were at the Beach but she was not going to have it. Janae convinced us to do all sorts of daring things instead. Brooke put her feet in the sand for the first time and even seemed to enjoy it.
After that being a pleasant experience, I was daring enough to
put her in a public swing. Brooke was loving it. I have a million pictures just like the ones below.

After the beach, Brooke was tired out so we all went to the counter. Rick and Janae had been there before, so J.T. did not want to be left out. Our burgers were huge and lived up to all the hype.

For those who know Janae, she is always talking about her Hip-Hop class. Well I went with her and agree that it is the best. I am even sore today! It was a great workout.

We had such a fun day. I was surprised how much fun I had watching Brooke do new things. Now, am I brave enough to try Rice Cereal?

The Gang II

We were lucky enough to get in a visit with everyone again. All of the Salos were home as well, so it was great to catch up and see everyones kids. We are trying to get Clint and Rick to go to Lomalinda ( I don't know how to spell it) so we can all stay here forever:)

One of the highlights was catching Rick and J.T. in the exact same outfit! J.T. bought the shirt for Rick for his birthday and Janae bought the shorts for Ricks birthday after seeing them on J.T. They were not even embarrassed. It was very cute. The boys continued the night with an X-Box tournament, while Janae beat us girls 3 times in a row at Settlers. I was proud to come in a close second. We did not get home till 3 a.m. It has been so long since we had pulled an all-nighter like that.

We have been told (by EVERYONE) that Brooke is the spitting image of J.T. (I think it is just the wrinkled forehead) I will admit to being a little disappointed at this statement. I guess you just want your girl to look like you. In fact, people who don't know J.T. think she looks like my Dad. J.T. and my Dad have been mistaken for brothers many times so I am sure that is where they are getting it from. I am sure in the near future this will change. I was always told as a kid that I looked just like my Dad. One day it just switched, and everyone said I looked just like my Mom.

Brooke's attitude on the other hand may come more from me. Tired or hungry and this kid becomes a grouch. Even her favorite Bumbo seat is not safe from the wrath of Brooke. She decided she wanted to go to bed and arched herself straight out of the chair. I took the picture and put her to bed.

Brooke Rolled

My pretty little girl has rolled over. She had kinda rolled over for the last few weeks, but now I find her on her stomach every time I turn around. I love it and give her a huge applause every time she rolls. I was trying to get her to roll from stomach to back, but I guess she wanted to go the other way.
She has been such a happy baby. I have to give thanks to Janae for turning me on to "Baby Wise". The picture above was taken right as she woke up. She wakes up so happy. I don't let anyone else go get her after her nap, I like to be the first one she sees.

We went to Lexus today. My old boss Andrea (in the picture to the left) was having fun holding her. Everyone came in and she was passed around. She did so well, even though she was a little tired. It was so much fun to go show off my little princess and have everyone goggle over her.

We have been very busy lately. J.T. completed finals and feels like a new man. I was surprised that Brooke remembered who he was. We took a quick trip up north to visit J.T.'s family. We have not been up there since Brooke was born. I was so excited to go get Thai, but it as closed! I was so upset. J.T. always reminds me during the 6 hour car ride when I start getting grouchy that we will be getting Thai, so I was really disappointed.
We met up with Justins family, who we have not seen since their wedding. There boy Mason was a lot of fun and really loved Brooke.
We also got to see Tony Gibbons family. J.T. was so excited to share his little "Brooke Trout" with them. They were so sweet and thought that Brooke looked just like J.T. Sarah is getting married in a month, and I told her to join the baby club.

Brooke loved playing with grandma and grandpa and continued sleeping through the night. I was worried she might get fussy in a new environment. She loved playing with their dogs Maze and Molly who were very curious as to who this new addition was. J.T. was on cloud nine there with his family and even got to golf.

Projectile vomitting

My pretty little Brooke has so much hair I dont always get it as pretty as I like. We have tried many hair styles, but I like the curl the best. When I put it in a bow, the end of the day result is the impressive mo-hawk shown below.

J.T. was proud of his new trick with Brooke. She has never been totally upside down before. J.T. picked her up a couple of times this way, before she puked all over him. He was not thrilled about it and gave her back to me. I'm use to it.

4 years

It was our anniversary May 9th. We have officially been married 4 years now. J.T. spent most of it studying, but took a little
time out to hang with me and Brooke. We took a walk to our favorite lunch spot "Volcano Burger". It was the first time I put a hat on Brooke. I hate to cover her pretty
hair.
My Mom came over first thing in the morning (a usual occurrence) with a card
and fruit arrangement for us. J.T. scarfed it down that morning. It was really
sweet.

It's hot

It has been so hot the last few days that even Brooke is starting to get angry. J.T. is trying to hold out on putting our swamp cooler (whatever it is called) in because he hates the sound. We had Brooke in nothing but her diaper so she could cool down with Daddy. J.T. took her outside to water the grass but watered her instead. She loves to be carried in the backpack and will stay content in it as long as we are willing to keep her in it.

The picture to the left is Brookes "Monroe" shot. It was so hot that J.T. decided to put the fan on her, which shot her dress up over her head and made her very angry.

Now we know everyone thinks there kids are advanced but look at Brooke. Already she wants to read and can sit up all on her own. I am so impressed.

New toys

Brooke and I have been busy the last couple of days trying to give J.T. time to study. We had to take Bridget (my moms dog) to Dakotas class for show and tell. Half way through he decided to share Brooke instead. It was very funny and the class really enjoyed it. We went to Target and bought Brooke a new toy. She loves reching for the toys above her but her favorite activity is the attached mirror.

Since J.T. wants us out of his hair, our time is best spent at grandmas. She at least cooks for us. Grandma plays dress up with Brooke even more then me. She is the stylist for the hair-do below. Grandma loves big bows.

Grandma got her this saucer thing. It is every toy all rolled into one. Brooke loves all the different toys to suck on.

Movin up

J.T. and I are movin up. We got our first Lexus. Everyone, including myself, thought I should have recieved one free just for working there. Thanks to my old boss, we got a great deal and I can stop wearing the oversized sunglasses when we drive around.

Brooke Teething?

We think Brooke might be teething. She sucks on everything and is really slobbery. She loves her jumper lent to us by Rick and Janae who were loaned it by Clint and Natalie. Sorry for the spit, I promise to clean it.

While J.T. studies away, Brooke and I play dress up and I wanted to show off her suade boots and jean skirt. She has the best clothes! J.T. will occasionally leave his studies to play with Brooke and "Fix" her hair. He thinks it looks best standing straight up. You be the judge.

The Gang

I love these pictures. J.T. Rick and Clint have all been friends since their freshman year at BYU. J.T. and Rick even roomed together. Natalie was first to marry into the group, then Janae and I was last. The same order follows for having kids. We love to get together as much as possible. It can be tough since J.T. is in Law school, Clint in medical and Rick in Dental. They will all graduate next year! Rick still has 100 years left of further schooling to go.

One of these boys could be courting Brooke in the future (since I know their parents) but J.T. thinks Brooke might out grow them early on:)

Brookey and Daddy

J.T. and Brooke have been spending alot of time together the last few days. J.T. has now gained the confidence that his little Brooke trout knows him. J.T. is home for a few days to prepare for finals and is having a hard time concentrating with Brooke around. This morning when she woke up, we went to go find Daddy shaving in the bathroom. She took one look at him and started screaming. We assumed it was the shaving cream on his face. That was strike one. Then, She was eating and Dad wanted to talk to her, again she
started screaming. Strike two. Later in the day, she was sitting content in her Bumbo, when J.T. went to pick her up and again, the screams came. Strike three. I think he just had bad timing today, but his ego is a little shot. Then again, he gets her to laugh the easiest .

Devins b-day

Thought I would give a shout out to my bro Devin. He had his 20th b-day and we were happy he made it this long. We did not get to celebrate the year before, and he did get put in jail a couple days later, but it was due to technical error:)

5 generations

How many people have a picture like this? We went to visit my great grandma
and had a kodak moment. All five generations were there so we took a picture. Brooke was dead asleep but the picture still works. My grandma (holding Brooke) is also in love with my baby and hates giving her up to my mom. We want to go visit again now that Brooke is a bit older and get a picture of her great-great
grandma holding her.

Grandma can not get enough of Brooke. Since she has been born, she has only missed three days of seeing Brooke. At that my Dad had to force her to go with them. I had to text her a poicture and video of Brooke evey day she was gone. It has been nice to have a babysitter at my beck and call. She also took the picture of Brooke in her Bumbo. Brooke loves the Bumbo. It gives her some independence. We put her on the island while we talk around it and she is nearly eye level.

Brooke's Blessing

My baby Brookes blessing day. She looked so beautiful in her poofy dress. What can I say, I wanted a girl. J.T. gave her a beautiful blessing that he was stressed about giving days before. We had all family in the circle, with the exception of the bishop and his BFF, Rick. Most of my Dads side of the family was there (non-members) and that is where I got these great pictures of Brooke and I as well as J.T. holding her up after the blessing. Who else do you know who has a picture of the blessing at the church? I love it! We were so happy to have a full house for her blessing and thank everone who came. It meant the world to us.
